Thanksgiving weekend is a very busy one when it comes to retailers and shopping. Millions of businesses in the US rely on the sales made on Black Friday and on through Cyber Monday to gauge how their business will fare though the holiday shopping season. As you know, Black Friday is the main kick off to the shopping season for the brick and mortar retailer and since 2010 and new addition has been added to the weekend sales events known as Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday was the brain child of American Express and has really taken off with small businesses all over. It is a creative way to support small business in towns and cities and remind shoppers to shop small. Since we are a small business as well, it is a valid concern to us and to business owners we know that supporting the small business locally is important to the survival of local economies.
If you are a small business that wants to participate in Small Business Saturday, you can visit the Small Business Administration and view their advice on how to participate, get marketing materials and even download help from Twitter to help push this event for your business. There is also tips for shoppers to find the shops that have linked with American Express and want to be involved with supporting Small Business Saturday.
This Thanksgiving weekend, enjoy your 3 shopping events – Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday as each event supports different retailers. Thank you for being our customer and being here with us.
